Privacy Policy

Privacy in this website preview.

This policy explains how information is handled when you browse this independent Harry & David-inspired template, use its search and Gift Finder, or add sample gifts to the demo cart. It describes this preview only, not the privacy practices of the official Harry & David business.

Last updated: 16 September 2026
Draft for the current preview. Operator, contact and hosting details must be completed before public launch.

1. Scope and website operator

The Harry & David name is retained as a design reference. This template is not the official store and does not send orders or customer information to the original business.

The legal operator’s name, postal address and operating jurisdiction have not yet been supplied. Those details and a working privacy contact must be added before the template is used as a public store.

2. Information used by the preview

Demo cart: the site saves the catalogue identifiers and quantities of your selected items in this browser. It does not ask for a recipient’s name, delivery address, email address or payment details.

Search: the site uses your search terms to show matching sample gifts. Gift Finder uses a broad recipient category, occasion and budget to filter the catalogue. These options do not identify an individual recipient.

The preview has no connected account registration, login, payment, order tracking, contact form or newsletter subscription service. No password or payment information is requested.

3. Search terms and Gift Finder URLs

Submitting the search box in the header places the search term in the search-page URL. Submitting Gift Finder on the homepage places the selected recipient category, occasion and budget in the results-page URL. The results are then filtered in your browser.

These URLs may remain in browser history, bookmarks or links you share. When the website is hosted online, URL query parameters are sent to the hosting server when the page is requested and may appear in access logs. Do not enter names, contact details or other sensitive information in the search box.

Typing on the search-results page and changing Gift Finder filters on its results page are processed within the current page; the application does not separately send those changes to a search or recommendation service.

4. Why the information is used

Saved cart entries let you revisit your sample selection and calculate a demonstration subtotal. Search and Gift Finder choices are used to display matching catalogue entries. Adding an item does not reserve inventory, place an order or contact a seller.

The filtering follows the sample category and occasion tags in the catalogue. It is not connected to a marketing profile or an external recommendation platform. Any additional purposes and applicable legal grounds must be specified if the operator introduces new processing.

5. Browser storage and tracking

The demo cart is stored in local storage under a site-specific key. Local storage stays on your device and is not automatically attached to HTTP requests. The application contains no feature that uploads the saved cart.

The supplied template includes no analytics scripts, advertising pixels, social tracking widgets or embedded third-party videos. Its photographs, fonts and scripts are included locally. Hosting infrastructure may add services or cookies depending on its configuration; those arrangements have not yet been specified.

You can remove items individually in the cart or clear the entire demo cart in Storage Settings. Clearing the cart does not clear browser history, bookmarks or hosting logs.

6. Hosting, recipients and external websites

When the site is hosted online, the hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP address, requested URL, request time and browser information. The provider, purposes, retention settings and processing locations must be confirmed for the final deployment.

The current application has no connection for sharing cart contents with payment, fulfilment, advertising or newsletter providers. If you visit an external website separately, its own privacy practices apply. The final operator must describe any additional recipients or international processing arrangements before enabling them.

7. How long information remains

Cart entries have no automatic expiry set by the application. They remain until you remove them, clear the cart, clear the site’s browser data or the browser removes the storage. They are not synchronized across devices.

Search and Gift Finder settings are not saved in the cart’s local storage. Settings included in a URL can remain in browser history or bookmarks until you remove them. Any server-log retention period depends on the hosting setup and remains to be confirmed.

8. Your choices and requests

You can browse without saving items, use the filters without entering personal details, and clear your demo cart whenever you wish. If you share a results-page URL, review the search or filter values it contains first.

There is no server-side customer account or order record in this preview. The final operator must provide a working contact and the request procedures for rights that apply to its actual operations and jurisdiction. The email fields below are intentionally blank until those details are supplied.

9. Shared devices and security

Someone using the same browser profile may see the demo cart and browsing history. Clear your selections and relevant history when using a shared device if you do not want them to remain visible.

No website, device or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. The preview does not make claims about hosting safeguards or processing locations that have not yet been configured.

10. Children’s information

The preview does not provide child accounts or a form for submitting personal information. If accounts, marketing, ordering or other data-collection services are added, the operator must assess the intended audience and address any applicable requirements concerning children before launch.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy should be updated when the website’s practices change, including when hosting, analytics, accounts, payment, fulfilment or contact services are introduced. The revised page will show its update date and describe the actual processing in use.

12. Contact

Contact addresses will be added before public launch. No email submission service is connected in this preview.
